Started listening to this album yesterday…I’ve been a big fan of Ab-Soul since Long Term 2. I’m actually glad to see his growth and the artist he’s become. He’s very intelligent and multi-syllabric with his rhymes. He’s definitely an inspiration with his messages and his skills. I’m also interested in similar things he references such as drugs, politics and spirituality. This album is sonically more “hard” or “trappy” then his other projects with a lot of 808 and chopped up high hats. I personally think he did it to appeal towards a wider audience. And although the cover is provocative I don’t think he made that many overt political or social or observations in the lyrics. It’s more of a good cohesive collection of random bangers.
